"The Butterflies"
A short narrative film
Characters
Name: John Fisher
Age: Early 20s-Early 30s

Breakdown: Seemingly lost in reality, not wanting to be in the relationship or current unoriginality of his life.  He looks like someone who is not necessarily financially successful but gets by with his work.  He does not favor dressing as if going to work in an office everyday.  John must be able to do complex scenes with other cast members and alone.  John Fisher is the lead character.

Name: Amanda
Age: Early 20s-Early 30s (preferably younger looking than John)
Breakdown: Any ethnicity.  Not necessarily in love with John, but she is much more demanding in their relationship.  She is somewhat high-strung.  Her idea of life is to settle down with the first person it “works” with.  She can sense there are some problems with their relationship but waits for a key moment to release her thoughts.   Amanda is John’s girlfriend and a supporting character.

Name: Isabella
Age: Early 20s-Early 30s (preferably younger looking than John)
Breakdown: Any ethnicity.  Isabella can be summed up in one word: innocent.  This is by the way she acts, the way she talks, and the way she looks.  Although she is not in many scenes, her present is felt throughout the film.  She is John’s true love and a supporting character.

Name: Michael
Age: Early 20s-Early 30s
Breakdown: Any ethnicity.  Michael is the kind of person that would work with Amanda in a relationship.  His lifestyle is that of a person driven only in financial success although he may not like the life he lives.  Michael is a comic character and John’s best friend.  He is a supporting character.

Name: Employee
Age: Late teens-Early 20s
Breakdown: Any ethnicity, any sex.  Comic relief.

Name: Painter
Age: Above teens
Breakdown: Any ethnicity, any sex. Mentor-like figure.

Name: Customer
Age: Above teens
Breakdown: Any ethnicity, any sex.  Comic relief.
